Up to 37,400 homes will be constructed and handed out in the district on the lines of the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna), as per the MCG, which is already on the mark with the Detailed Project Report (DPR).

An MCG functionary shared that the enterprise got more than a lakh applications that sought the avails within the scheme, and 28,839 aspirants were shortlisted in MCG regions, 1,841 in Pataudi Municipal Corporation zones, 791 in Farrukhnagar, 1,412 in Haily Mandi and 4,580 in Sohna.

“An agency called Yashi Consultancy Pvt Ltd was appointed for the survey to assess the demand under the national scheme. The survey has been completed, and so is the DPR, which will be submitted to the state government within this month,” said an MCG official.

The DPR is later dispatched to the Centre for its content, which is most likely anticipated by March. Government instruments like HUDA, MCG and HSIIDC will take up the project in tandem, tag plots and construct homes.

A developer firm will be given charge and the housing board will oversee the process of construction, the official stated. These homes will be presented in a variety of modes such as recipient-guided house development, Credit Link Subsidy (CLS), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) and in-situ slum betterment.

Whilst in AHP, the fabricated homes will be granted to beneficiaries by the state government. With respect to this, the government will provide subvention of up to Rs. 2.50 lakh. In CLS, the recipients will be eligible for credit at subsidized interest rates.

To be able to apply for the benefits under the central scheme, one has to be a resident of the district, should not be a taxpayer and should not have more than one property in Gurugram.

The plot for the homes that will be constructed within AHP, nevertheless, has not yet been decided. Government agencies are still testing the waters in this regard. In the recipient-guided home development, if the applicant owns the land, the government will contribute Rs 2.50 lakh subsidy to construct the house on his land.

The official conveyed that if someone is under the below poverty line (BPL) category and has a house in Gurugram, he or she can avail loan at low interest rates. A loan of up to Rs 6 lakh will be given at 2.5 %, an amount between Rs 6 and 9 lakh will be given at 5% and 6% interest will be charged for a loan of Rs 9-12.
