The Uttar Pradesh government is geared up to propel Noida and Greater Noida with a major multi-crore investment drive.

According to a news stir in the UP secretariat, the CM’s cabinet allies and top administrators are working on blueprints showcasing big industrial nuclei, expressways and multi-mode transport crossings to absorb the attention of international investors and business houses in a big way.
As per UP health minister Siddharth Nath Singh, “A big investment summit is scheduled on February 20 and 21 next year to showcase to potential investors what the state has done, be it fast-moving expressways, regional connectivity in terms of opening 15 new airports, special thrust on curbing crime and improving output in agriculture and blending technology with innovations”.

High-level officials are sworn to secrecy about investment mathematics. However, investment worth thousands of crores has been zeroed in by envoys from South Korea, Japan, US and UK, who will be arriving for the summit. It is also believed that the UP CM will go full throttle to pull in investment once he is through with his Gujarat campaign. He will also be traveling abroad to major international destinations including the US, to attract investment for UP.

Anup Chandra Pandey, Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commissioner of UP said, “The entire western UP landscape is set to change. The entire Yamuna Expressway is up as a perfect case for transit-oriented development. And in all this, Noida and Greater Noida are the top beneficiaries, along with six or seven other major towns falling along the major expressways in operation or under planning stage in UP”.

Bringing clarity to the newly proposed life-line, Purvanchal Expressways that will connect Delhi to Bihar via Noida by traversing through three expressways, Awasthi, the CEO of UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA), told media, “We are pushing hard to begin construction of Purvanchal Expressway to link Delhi and Bihar via Varanasi in a road journey not lasting 10 hours as against 15-17 hours at present. A faster movement is ensured once the Rs 20,000 crore Purvanchal Expressway gets completed. Construction will begin in March 2018 as nearly 80 per cent of private land is already acquired by the government.”

Adding on to this, Pandey said, “The Expressway, coupled with prospects of Jhevar airport in Delhi’s vicinity, has thrown open the entire Noida-Greater Noida-Jhevar and Dadri area for planned development. Dadri is also the convergence of two freight corridors in offing and we plan to make that area UP’s new logistics hub. Besides, we plan to develop a multimodal transport hub and open the area to investors to set up mega food parks.”
